Sally Temple, Neural Stem Cell Institute, USA
Sally Temple, PhD, is the Co-Founder and Scientific Director of the Neural Stem Cell Institute located in Rensselaer NY, USA. Dr. Temple trained at Cambridge University and University College London with Dr. Martin Raff FRS. Since contributing to the discovery of Neural Stem Cells (NSCs) in 1989, her group has continued to make pioneering contributions to the field, identifying cell-intrinsic and extracellular niche factors that participate in NSC self-renewal and differentiation into diverse neural cell types. Using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells, her research group is building novel models to study disease mechanisms of age-related neurodegeneration.
