Knowing the best way to structure your scientific paper, identify the most appropriate journal, and understand the peer review process is critical to getting your work published.  

Attend this workshop and get a behind the scenes look into the publishing process, with tips and tricks from Cell Press. Our interactive format provides participants with the knowledge needed to navigate the complex publication eco-system more effectively. Topics covered include:

  • steps to take before writing a paper
  • how to develop and submit a manuscript
  • what editors and publishers are looking for
  • the peer review process from start to finish
  • Appeals, transfers and presubmission inquiries
  • how to be a good reviewer

Sensitive areas such as publishing ethics, plagiarism, and duplicate publishing will also be addressed.

Presenter Biography

Jonathan P. Saxe, Ph.D. is a Scientific Editor at Cell Stem Cell. He joined Cell Press in April 2013 after completing postdoctoral research studying small RNA biogenesis in mammalian germline stem cells at Yale University. He received his Ph.D. in 2007 from the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at UCLA, identifying small molecule probes that induce neural stem cell differentiation and studying post-translational control of pluripotency.
